The indicator of modern distribution panels is a LED. This is a semiconductor device with a p-n junction, designed to produce optical radiation when electric current passes through it. The light emitted by this AD signal element lies within a narrow spectral range and depends on the chemical composition of the semiconductor.
The circuit that powers a standard signal lamp works as follows. Voltage is supplied from the corresponding circuit sequentially through a series resistor with a power of several kilo-ohms. When the protective relay activates, the LSL lamp lights up. Since switching on and off occurs regularly, incandescent filament elements quickly fail. This became one of the main reasons for replacing them with LED indicator lamps.

LED fixtures: functions, marking, and selection features
Replacing KM lamps, LED elements look almost the same and serve the same role, indicating the position of switches or showing the status of automation. - type of element;
- brightness group — A (normal) or B (high);
- light color — R (red), G (green), B (blue), W (white);
- type of current — 1 (DC), 3 (AC), 2 (universal lamps);
- operating voltage — from 6 to 380 V.

Functionally, LED fixtures do not differ from ordinary lamps. LSLs are installed in standard connectors of the signaling circuit, so their use does not require modifications to the equipment design. Different models may vary in bulb color, installation method, and degree of protection.
